SNATCH THIEF

OMG !!... today I had a real life experience of having my
handbag snatched.

After dropping my mum off to the nearby coffee shop at
OUG , PJ to have her pork soup noddles, which is a "must have"
once in a blue moon, I drove off to the side lane and park my
car.

While walking to the shop to meet her , just about 12 residents' houses
away from the shop, suddenly a motorbike stopped in front of me,
and a guy got off and suddenly lurched at me.

I was pushed on the ground and he was going after my handbag.
I pulled back my handbag hard and put up a struggle with him ,
he was standing, and I was so desperate and helpless on the ground.

Some passerby were there, but no one came to my rescue.

When I was lying on the road, I saw a blue Nissan car from the
opposite direction. Luckily, this kind samaritan aunty gave a
loud horn. This sort of of distract the snatch thief attention and
also getting the nearby household unlocking their door and see what was
happening.

He walked away , toward his motorbike, empty handed.
Just, when I thought he was going to speed off with his partner,
he tried to made another attempt and coming toward me again.

I was so shocked and was still struggling for my composure,
luckily the kind samaritan, did not go off yet , she gave another
louder horn this time and I heard someone shouted
"SNATCH THIEF !! ... SNATCH THIEF !!!!!!!!! "
and the aunty keep on horning her car.

Halfway, the snatcher turned away from my direction and jumped
on to the waiting bike and speed off instead.

God Bless the aunty in the blue Nissan car. She was my good samaritan.
Without her horning and getting people attention, surely the
snatch thief would have already got my handbag.

Thank God, he did not have any weapon, and I was not badly injured.

I was in a kind of shock until now, and this was such a bad experience
for me.

Nothing

a post without a comment
is like wildflower in the desert
travellers pass by
and behold its beauty
then leave without a word
or a sigh
but that is fine
the flower remains beautiful
in itself.

Brand Conscious??

Gucci, Prada, Versace, Valentino, Bruno Magli, Christian Dior, YSL, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Chanel, Escada, Giorgio Armani, Donna Karan, Carolina Herrera, Burberry, J.P. Gaultier, Diesel, Victoria's Secret .... and the list could go on forever.

For some, these brands are synonymous with the words "high society".

But let me ask you, do you think that the brands' products are really worth the prices that they are?

And do you think that with those brands come the privilege of belittling others who are not brand-conscious or are less fortunate in that respect?

And then, do you believe that people would automatically look up to you just because your full ensemble is worth around 5-6 digits?

I say not.

Because for all the quality put into those items, a shoe will always be a shoe and serves its purpose of protecting the soles of one's feet from dirt, dust and other harmful objects that it may be subjected to.

And the same goes for clothing and other essentials. You don't need to be clothed in 5-6 digit clothes to cover your naked body and to stay out of the cold or protect your skin from the harmful UV rays of the midday sun. Because they are in effect mere garments just like others that are plain and sewed for the purpose of clothing a human being. It doesn't mean that if you are dressed in a famous designer wear you will look like a million ringgit if you are really not, you know.

And if you think that sporting even just a small piece of these branded stuff could elevate you to the higher ranks of society, then you are most likely, misguided. Because societies have their own way of telling who's who and who's not ... and not simply because one carries a brand.

I am not saying that one shouldn't be purchasing well-known brands. Am simply stating that instead of being brand-conscious, let's be a bit more self-conscious instead. Do we really need those clothes, shoes, bags? Putting one's feet firmly on the ground with head up a modest high and giving as much to others already put oneself in high society.

Forgiven, Not Forgotten

To forgive is to forget.
Is it really?

I have been pondering about this line of thought for the past few days now and I have come to a, well, sort of conclusion that it does not have to traverse a 2-way street just as what others have been persisting. I would say that it is entirely possible to forgive someone for their trespasses against us without actually forgiving them. Afterall, forgiveness is a decision of the will; a renouncing of our anger and resentment.

While forgetting, can we really forget people, things, events or situations? Am not sure but from what I can recall of some medical readings, our minds do not forget. We just think that we have forgotten but the truth s, the information is still there inside our minds. But for some reasons, we just cannot access it. Maybe it is due to the distractions going on around us but the bottom line is, we cannot force the mind to forget. We can, perhaps, suppress the memories we do not want to remember its associated feelings with. And it is just that ... suppressing ... simply pushing the memory out of reach, but not totally constraining it. Unless of course you contracted some form of amnesia and your memories start to fail you. But other than that, we cannot will our minds to forget. We can only will ourselves to forgive.
